The NA Beer Blog

There’s a lot more to non-alcoholic beer than what’s in the glass.

The world of NA beer is changing quickly, with new breweries, brewing techniques, styles and ideas appearing all the time. What was once a relatively small corner of the drinks market has developed into something far more interesting — and there’s plenty to talk about.

This is where I explore everything around NA beer, beyond individual tasting notes. Expect articles about how alcohol-free beer is made, the ingredients and techniques behind it, the history of the category, new developments in brewing, changing consumer habits, beer culture, glassware, food pairing and the growing range of styles available.

I’ll also look at some of the questions that come with choosing and enjoying NA beer. Why do some beers taste more convincing than others? How do brewers create flavour without alcohol? What does 0.0% actually mean? And where is the category heading next?

Some articles will be practical, some will be more opinion-led, and others will simply explore something I find interesting. The aim is to make NA beer easier to understand, more interesting to explore and, hopefully, a little more enjoyable along the way.

Because NA beer isn’t simply about what it leaves out.

It’s about what brewers are finding new ways to put in.
