Erdinger Alkoholfrei is the alcohol-free version of the classic Bavarian wheat beer from Erdinger Weissbräu. Brewed in the traditional German wheat-beer style, it is intended to retain the character and refreshment associated with a Hefeweizen, while containing less than 0.5% alcohol.
Unlike many modern alcohol-free beers that focus heavily on hops, Erdinger takes a more traditional approach, with wheat malt, yeast character and carbonation playing important roles in its overall profile.
Appearance:
Hazy amber. A good head which lasts a decent length of time. Plenty of carbonation keeps it topped up for some time, until it finally starts to disappear after a few minutes.
Nose:

Not a huge amount going on here. There’s a subtle malty sweetness, petrichor, a little lychee and pineapple too.
Taste:
A different flavour profile to many na beers, there’s a pleasing balance of gentle spice and sweetness. It’s a little creamy in consistency with hops playing a part.
Finish:
The sweetness and hops last a short amount of time. There’s a little bitterness now.
Overall:
I really enjoy this beer. It’s one of the first I tried that I really enjoyed as a drink in its own right, and not just an alternative to alcoholic beer.
Drink With:
Anything, from BBQ to dinner in a restaurant.
Would I buy Again?:
Very much a staple of mine.
